The Washita Wheat is brewed using Oklahoma Red Wheat and you can't get any more "made in Oklahoma" than that! Combine that with a couple of nice lagers and a pale ale and Mustang gives us some nice choices. Check out their site at http://www.mustangbrewing.com/index2.php
We've had some decent weekends although the week days seem to have been better weather-wise here in Waynoka. Lots of visitors to Little Sahara this month enjoying spring break. We have enjoyed visiting with folks from Iowa, Minnesota and closer states like Kansas, Texas and Missouri. And it's been fun to reconnect with those who we first met last year during our first spring break. But the most fun is to see some of our old riding friends from when we were active duners ten years ago and reconnect with them! So we invite you all to stop in and say hi! If we don't know you we'd like to! The shelves are full and we are here to serve you! Don't forget to bring in your ID if you look under 30! We will be asking!OkieJhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01588846745616734171noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2314144845938928069.post-67402651739641755002010-12-04T12:41:00.000-08:002010-12-04T12:41:09.407-08:00One Year Appreciation!

OkieJhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01588846745616734171noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2314144845938928069.post-71528563780680038802010-10-12T08:41:00.000-07:002010-10-12T08:41:27.311-07:00October fun!So many things going on this month I can't focus on just one! This coming weekend, Oct. 15 - 17 is the Powered Parachute Fly-In at the Waynoka Airport. If you've never seen these machines fly you are in for a treat. They are very colorful with the parachutes fully open when they are in flight.

We are also having a Ranch Rodeo at the Cimarron River Stampede Rodeo grounds on the east side of Waynoka on Saturday evening. This should be a fun event to watch. Upwards of 20 four man teams will compete in events like Scoop Shovel Racing! And come find out what COW MUGGING is!!!

Cimarron Wine & Spirits will be open until 9 each evening to provide you with your adult beverage choices. Come in and see us!

Following the fly-in weekend is the big Fall Break Weekend at Little Sahara. Lots of riders, lots of people! We welcome each and every one of you to Waynoka.

And to cap off the month, the last weekend is Halloween! Little Sahara Sandsports Sat. Every five years Waynoka hosts an all school reunion for High School alumni. This year local businesses and residents are sprucing up the downtown area with a Paint the Pole party! Spearheaded by the chamber, the fun began this week when people picked a pole and did some painting. No 2 poles are alike, no one was given instructions on how or what to paint. We're pretty excited about the results all around town. Come by and see us this weekend as you visit with classmates and friends!

OkieJhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01588846745616734171noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2314144845938928069.post-4363699696472349182010-07-23T07:08:00.000-07:002010-07-23T07:22:22.509-07:00Summer Porch PartyI was reading through an issue of BH&G the other day and ran across this drink recipe that sounded perfect for summer time. Gene and Karen are packing to move off to Ponca City, a good thing for Ponca, a sad day for Waynoka. We always hate to see good solid folks leave our town. the great news for me is that I will soon be the new owner of Cimarron Wine & Spirits.

So I am going to pretend that no one knows me and give you the scoop! Jeanne Cole and John Cole (who I can't even pretend that no one knows), moved to Oklahoma and chose Waynoka for their home in 1977. We were avid duners for about 25 years and so many of our tourist visitors will recognize John when they walk in the door this month. John is very well known from other business ventures in Waynoka, and will be carrying the workload at the store for awhile.

Retirement is the nearest thing on my mind these days, and of course leaving Waynoka is not high on my list of things to do either, so when Karen told me she was moving to Ponca and selling the business, it seemed like a natural thing. Along the way I have learned a lot about the legalities of selling liquor in Oklahoma. But we are getting close!

What will take a little longer is learning more about wines. Whiskey, Vodka, Rum, those things I know a little about (personal experiences aside), but wine is a mystery onto itself. Luckily for me I have a friend or two that know wine and are willing to offer some guidance.

So as I learn I will be posting about the business of running a liquor store business and learning about the products I will be selling. Really funny is I found out I am already learning; case in point, a commercial on TV last night, woman spills a bottle of wine and I recognize the label as Yellow Tail, a brand I am learning is quite popular in our area! And even better, John recognized the label too, and he pretends to have no interest in Wine!!

For those of you who miss Sammy, (that was Karen's Yorkie) I am sorry I don't have a dog, but John will entertain you! Come by and visit with us as we learn the business. We are glad to have you visit Waynoka!OkieJhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01588846745616734171noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2314144845938928069.post-47133499583416104092007-07-11T17:14:00.000-07:002009-11-09T06:35:20.701-08:00THE Liquor Store in Waynoka, Oklahoma
Come see us

You'll find Cimarron Wines and Spirits downtown, at the corner of Missouri and Santa Fe Streets, right across from the bank.
